MoneyMate Ltd was formed in 1993 and has had several upgrades and new benefits added. Thanks to the close relationship we have with our stores when they suggest or present new benefits, we work together to ensure MoneyMate Ltd remains current within the competitive marketplace. 

In 2000, MoneyMate Ltd. Bought the software that existed at that time.  That software was outdated and the first thing we did was to bring it up to date to make it easier to navigate and fix any existing glitches.  Since that time, we have had the program updated 3 more times, with the last version being built completely from scratch in 2021.  That program is known as Enterprise 2.0.

Monthly Access Fees

When we started MoneyMate, our chief mandate was to offer software that is robust, easy to use and do these things and more while keeping the costs low.  Our pricing is a flat rate.  We do not charge extra for multiple users in any individual store. We do not charge a setup fee as many other companies do and we do not require any lump sum payment up front. You will be required to pay the programming costs for any custom forms.  You also get all 3 modules, payday and term loans as well as cheque cashing for one low price.

The number one feature is that the software was designed in Canada specifically for the Canadian market. We do our utmost to keep Enterprise 2.0 up to date with every province and territory’s regulations.

Customer Service

We insist on providing the best customer service in our field. Many of our customers switched from American software. The main reason given is really poor customer service, especially when government regulations change, and changes are needed quickly. We jump on customer service issues and work with our programmer and I.T. professionals to make any modifications required quickly and accurately. We do not charge our customers for government required changes due to new regulations coming into effect.

Enterprise 2.0 is online software.  This means that owners and managers can access it to keep an eye on things, from anywhere they have internet access, 24/7.

Online Lending

Our system is set up so that it can be used for online lending . We will send you a snippet of code to add to your website that will take your customer to an application.  Once filled in, the application is sent to your store and all of the customer information in the application is automatically entered into your customer database.

SMS Messaging

Another popular and powerful feature is our SMS messaging system.  Reach out to customers who have loans coming due in the next couple of days and with a single click a friendly reminder is sent out.  The same thing goes for people who miss a payment.  With one click they are reminded of the past due payment.

James Reid, President

James is the owner and principal driver of MoneyMate.  He came from a strong financial background having spent many successful years in the insurance industry.  He also had several years as a program manager in the field of stored value credit cards.  James enjoys people and spends much of his spare time volunteering for the Belleville General Hospital Foundation where he is the Treasurer.  His family is very important to him, and he enjoys spending time golfing or just visiting with his kids and grandchildren. 

Bill Heard, General Manager

Bill and James have known and worked together for the best part of 25 years. Bill’s background was in the automobile industry where he worked in sales, the finance department and sales Manager for a total of about 20 years.  Bill started working with James on various projects and went with him to the stored value card business where he oversaw sales and marketing.  When James needed a right-hand man to help run MoneyMate he called on Bill. Bill is basically the face of the company.  He has 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren who are the light of his life.
